Getting to and from Cambodia’s islands can be quick and easy, or maybe not?
Several speedboats running between Koh Rong Island and Koh Rong Samloem, can carry up to 140 people, and cost $25 round trip.
Between Sihanoukville and Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem, the trip takes 45 to 60 minutes and cost $25 round trip. Between the two islands it’s about 10-20 minutes.
A few private boats travel between the mainland and the islands. These are either for private charter, or some of the resorts on the islands have their own private boat for their customers.
Rides between islands can take 10 minutes to the closest island (a trip on the bridge to Snake island takes about 2 minutes), to an 8 hour ride on a small boat to the farthest island. Koh Ta Kiev Island is the only other island with daily trips.
Between November and May you can also get to Koh Rong, Koh Rong Samloem, and Koh Sdach from the Kampot International Tourism Port.
Koh Ta Kiev Island is about 45 minutes boat ride from Otres Beach, and costs about $20 for the round trip. It’s about 15 minutes from Ream National Park.
All of the helicopter services to the island are headquartered in Phnom Penh. Song Saa Island has a sea plane to take customers to the islands from Siem Reap (Angkor Wat)

Most boats travel from the mainland pier in Kep to Rabbit Island. The boat is $25 for the round trip, and you can get up to 8 people on the boat. About 35 minutes. Many hotels in Kep can get you an $8 round trip ticket. You can go just for the day, or overnight at one of the beachside bungalows.

The Resorts that take up their whole island have their own transportation. Directly from Phnom Penh, the SihanoukVille Airport, or from their own piers. When you book your room (Villa), they’ll get you directly to your resort. These rooms cost between $200 and $5,000 per night. The whole island resorts are for guests only.
